One of Singapore's most accomplished chefs finally sets up store in the fine dining culinary capital of Paris.

Decorated fine dining chef Andre Chiang of namesake Restaurant ANDRE has finally set up shop in the city of lights. The 32-seat Porte 12 (12 Rue Des Messageries, +33 1 42 46 22 64) is a bistro-style joint pushing out gastronomic plates of fine French food.

At the helm of the restaurant is one of Andre's sous chefs Vincent Crepel. The French native has a pretty impressive resume boasting names like Switzerland's Hotel de Ville Crissier. Expect an old-meets-new twist on dishes with some pretty unexpected flavors and pairings that play up to the different textures and abundance of the French terroir.

Interiors-wise, the restrained and minimal space has lots of light colors and chandeliers that pay homage to the building's past as a corset making house. Price-wise, Porte 12 serves both lunch and dinner ranging from €28 ($45) for a two-course lunch to €65 ($106) for a six-course dinner. Pretty reasonable, we say, as compared to his astronomical prices here.
