Music lovers: have a picnic in KL this weekend
International and regional musical acts converge in Malaysia on Aug 23 for the Good Vibes Festival. And it's not just for twee types either. Expect plenty of drama and punk rock, too.
If you're not feeling all the fab hotel poolside parties happening in town this weekend, why not rent a car and head up to KL for a more laid-back musical experience? The Good Vibes Festival is a picnic (bring your own mat...and your own raincoat) and an all-day concert rolled into one, taking place at the popular Sepang Go Kart Circuit on Aug 23, starting at 4pm (come earlier, though).
Taking to the stage will be performers like indie songstress Ellie Goulding, flamboyant electro outfit Empire of the Sun, Australian singer Banks and even Singapore's own Electrico. In fact, fans of regional bands will probably pleased by the super diverse line-up of acts from Malaysia, ranging from electro DJ/producer duo DANGERDISKO to indie folk band The Cotton Field Scarecrows to croony singer-songwriter Narmi.
The show will run till about midnight, but don't worry, there will be a dedicated food village manned by local purveyors to fuel you. Oh, and there's parking too, for RM10. Tickets are RM108-198 ($42.60-78). For more info, click here.
