AYUTTHAYA
Sala Ayutthaya
The historic province of Ayutthaya will welcome its first boutique luxury property, Sala Ayutthaya (02-231-2588, www.salaresorts.com/ayutthaya) on Aug 1. This will be the sixth property of the Sala Hospitality Group, known for two luxurious resorts down South, Sala Samui and Sala Phuket, plus boutique properties in Khao Yai, Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Sat on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Pratu Chai, opposite the renowned Wat Phutthaisawan, the stylish new property consists of 26 rooms split into five room types, from a superior room to a pool suite or a one-bedroom duplex with stunning views of the river and the temple. Decked out with modern white furnishings, the resort also bears Eastern touches thanks to the use of wood décor and the tigers painted on the walls. Facilities include a swimming pool, a spa and a dining venue with an outdoor terrace overlooking the river. Opening rates start from B3,100 per night for a superior room. The group also plans to open another property, Sala Chaweng, later this year.
