Indian resto-lounge with Western offerings opens near Boat Quay
If you thought tandoori chicken and char-grilled salmon didn't go together, think again.
New and modern Indian restaurant D'Bell has just set up shop on North Canal Road, and it's a little bit unusual. There's a swanky upstairs lounge area complete with a VIP room, a mirrored bar and kool-kat tunes, as well as Western offerings on their extensive menu. Think rogan josh meets calamari rings or gulab jamun (milk balls with rose syrup) and a chocolate brownie.
Sounds weird? We think it's a surprisingly cohesive combination. They make pretty solid and flavorful Indian food from the fish tawa wali (butter fish cubes glazed with coconut and curry leaves paste) to the chilli cheese naan. But if you're not too keen on all that spice, classic Western dishes like sirloin steak and wagyu beef sliders won't go wrong.
In the mood for a little party afterwards? This place has got you covered. There's bottle service (we found a pretty rare single malt whisky on their menu) and signature cocktails to get you going for the rest of the night.
