Southern restaurant Life is Beautiful on future plans and Tyler Hudgens' departure
Despite the Southern belle's short stint, the modern New Orleans-style restaurant has grand plans for the future.
Unfortunately for Tyler Hudgens fans, the vivacious bartender has left the much-hyped Southern restaurant/bar/party place Life is Beautiful on Duxton Road.
We chatted with her a few months back about her exciting and classic NOLA bar program involving cocktails like the Sazerac and Ramos Gin Fizz, but it seems like the restaurant is headed into a more bumpin' party territory. "I came here on contract with the aim of creating really amazing cocktails that showcased the American South's culture," said Hudgens. "I didn't expect to be pushing out so many drinks per minute and when you have to shake more than five Ramos Gin Fizzes within half an hour, it gets really tiring."
While we aren't particularly thrilled that LiB is becoming more of a club (we loved the chill late night vibe there), we're excited that the establishment will be bringing in guest mixologists every quarter to keep the bar menu in seasonal rotation and on-trend. Don't despair as Tyler's cocktails will be available until the end of this month before a Melbournian bartender takes the reins for the next three months. There has already been a slew of parties held from Wednesday to Saturday, and you can expect different musical styles each night by guest acts and resident DJs Anand and KiDG.
