Plunge pools, sky parking, mood lighting: meet Singapore's most extravagant condos
Because it's good to dream.
Singapore is an expensive city, we get it. But did you know that it’s also home to the world’s fifth most expensive real estate street? Yup, it’s our very own Paterson Hill, averaging $4,952 per square foot (psf). With that in mind, we went looking for Singapore's most lush and lavish condominium developments. Here's what we found.
The most lavish: The Marq
Admittedly, this District 9 building with a 180-degree view of Orchard Road is totally drop-dead gorgeous. Each unit is equipped with a private plunge pool right outside the living room, so there’s not need to share dirty water. It also holds the record for the highest transacted price: a whopping $6,850psf.
The most expensive: TwentyOne Angullia Park
If money is no object, this property should be at the top of your list. With an average price of $5,181psf, the 7,718sq.ft penthouse was recently sold for $42.9 million. Due to be completed this June, the 36-storey glass structure is punctuated by pockets of greenery to add to the garden- (or perhaps that should be diamond-) in-the-sky look.
For car enthusiasts: Hamilton Scotts
What better way to show off your car than parking it in your sky garage? Not only will passers-by see it from outside, you can admire your machine from the comfort of your living room. The automated parking system uses biometric identification to whisk your cars up straight to your doorstep, scratch-free. Each unit comes with a two-car sky garage and a basement spot for your spare, less flashy vehicle.
The most pedigreed: DUO
Architecture buffs take note! Designed by Ole Scheeren, the "It" architect of the moment, this mixed development in the Bugis area will house offices, a 5-star hotel, retail spaces, and luxury condominiums. We hear that you can even expect hotel amenities if you live there. Room service anyone?
For nature lovers: Robin Suites
Who can claim to have the Botanic Gardens as their backyard? Residents of Robin Suites, that's who. The timber-heavy development, nestled in the residential enclaves between Tanglin and Holland, claims to have one of the only unobstructed views of the lush park.
The race car in the sky: Ferra
This 22-storey Leonie Hill tower designed by luxury carmakers Pininfarina is a homage to the Ferrari 458 and the basement carpark comes with "mood lighting" that aims to showcase your cars’ best angles.
