New online concept Trevolta to crowd-fund travels
New online concept Trevolta gets crowd-funding for travelers with big trip ideas.
After launching in October, with the idea of crowd-funding chosen travelers trips, Trevolta attracted over 400,000 users in its first month alone. Now, since founders Mark Karimov, Donovan Solms and Lorette le Roux began Trevolta, nearly half a million people around the globe have signed-up to be a part of the online community of travelers with big ideas.
Global brands have approached Trevolta with an interest in sponsoring users' trips, to give their company positive global exposure. The recipients will cover their journeys via the Trevolta blogs and social media.
From November 4 the first phase of 30,000 travelers were given private access to the website to complete their personal profiles and start planning their trips through its application process, in the hope that they'll raise funds from the site's sponsorship network. Yesterday the first successful applicants were announced, including a team that plan to travel from New York to Patagonia, by ambulance.
Follow the trips of these first sponsorship recipients and find out how to be in with a chance yourself on the Trevolta website.
