New design resort Cheval Blanc Randheli opens in The Maldives.
Maldivian resort Cheval Blanc Randheli, a collaboration between Cheval Blanc and architect Jean Michel Gathy, was unveiled this November.
In November 45-villa Maldivian resort Cheval Blanc Randheli, a collaboration between architect Jean Michel Gathy and Cheval Blanc, was unveiled on Randheli island in the Noonu Atoll.
The resort is the second Cheval Blanc Maison in the world, after the exclusive Cheval Blanc Courchevel ski resort, and is also the second resort in the Maldives to have been designed by Gathy, after the highly acclaimed Reethi Rah resort.
Cheval Blanc Randheli combines contemporary design with inspiration drawn from the elements of sand, sea and sun, while cathedral style ceilings and 23ft. high doors ensure the space is filled with natural light, making the most of the surrounding island scenery. Inspired by Gathy's life travels, it is designed for barefoot living and the graphic architecture is complimented by materials from the Indian Ocean and Europe.
You can swim in the villa's private pool or wander along the private beach of Randheli island, which was chosen for its unspoiled natural environment, lush vegetation and turquoise lagoon. The island is a 40-minute journey from Malé by seaplane.
The resort has a range of restaurants with international cuisine, under the expertise of three-Michelin starred chef Yannick Alléno.
Rates start from US$1,300 ($1,616) per night and bookings can be made online.
