Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District will soon welcome two big music events. Hot on the heels of Clockenflap (Nov 29-Dec 1), which we mentioned a few weeks back, featuring the likes of Two Door Cinema Club, Franz Ferdinand, and Four Tet, comes Blohkparty on Dec 7. Curated by Grammy Award-winning singer/producer and all-round man-of-the-moment Pharrell Williams (who will headline), the lineup will also include rap veteran Pusha T and Gaspard Auge of French electro duo Justice, as well as local performers such as Edison Chen, 24 Herbs and Skibs the Kid. While in town, you could stay at the fashionable new hotel Mira Moon (www.designhotels.com/mira_moon) on Jaffe Road. Having just opened its doors in November, the 91-room hotel will certainly keep the girls amused with ladies-only floors kitted out with beauty supplies and fashion accessories. Rates start at HK$4,000 (B16,080) per night, but through Dec 31 the hotel also offers introductory rates with up to 20% discount on rack rates.
