Singapore microbrewery Brewerkz launches its first batch of Blueberry Mead
Brewerkz introduces Singapore's very first honey wine.
Not content to rest on their laurels, Singapore microbrewery Brewerkz has just launched its very first batch of Blueberry Mead.
Yes, you read that right. The beer specialists have made this limited edition honey wine with American blueberries from Oregon and Thai honey. But don’t let its unassuming nature fool you, because at 8.44 percent ABV, this baby's the strongest beverage brewed by Brewerkz to date.
"After 15 years and 50 different beer styles, this is our first mead and I feel like a proud new parent. We've used honey in our beer in the past but this is the first time it's the primary ingredient. But beyond being unique the Blueberry Mead is also delicious. It's not at all like a beer nor is it sweet but the ripe fruit and honey aroma and flavor are as tasty as they are special,” says founder and managing director Devin Kimble.
To get a taste of Blueberry Mead (from $8/375ml), head down to Brewerkz Riverside Point or Brewerkz Indoor Stadium. A single 330 ml bottle costs $6, while six bottles will set you back $30 (takeaway only). As with all their special releases, it's available while stocks last, so be quick.
