Tubotel Langkawi, a hotel made from recycled pipes, is now open with rates starting at RM188 (S$75) including breakfast.
Ddesigned by architect Andy Strauss, the "exotic" venue has clear views of the Andaman Sea, and each barrel-like room is made of giant drainage pipes. The cool concrete cylinders make air-conditioning unnecessary, and the hotel hosts onsite parties every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 3pm to sundown. Ideal for a getaway with a difference.
