Female Traffic Police
Who would have thought that the Metropolitan Police Bureau were so right on and forward thinking that they would actually employ women to work there? Crazy, huh? As of last week, a special team of 18 female officers have been assigned to work as traffic policewomen. According to Pol. Lt. Gen. Winai Thongsong, the reason for setting up the unit is to “enforce the law enforcement in a sweeter way.” Oh, we get it. Women are sweet right; how can an angry driver get upset at being fined by a cute lady? And, of course, women would never take bribes like those naughty men. Just to show that there really isn’t any hint of lazy-sexism behind this decision, the new officers will be dressed exactly like their male counterparts, oh except they get a lovely pink trim to their motorcycle helmets instead of the normal red. Sooo cute!
