Children’s Day
OK, the thought of having to spend the day with your little nephew or niece might send a shiver down your spine, but hey, it’s National Children’s Day on Jan 8 so it’s time to face up to those fears. There are numerous activities going on around the city with perhaps the biggest being held by the BMA at Suan Rod Fai. Under the umbrella theme “Kid Power” the event is further divided into six categories relating to health, environment, safety, education, sufficiency, and culture. The Ministry of Education are also getting in on the act with a big event at Suan Suepa featuring a carnival, games, music performances while giving out 200,000 gifts to visitors too. If you don’t fancy being outside then a cheaper option is to head to the Bangkok Planetarium or Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre which are both free for children.
