Elevated coworking brand The Great Room is more than just “great”
With membership plans that include access to offices across the globe
We’re big fans of working from home, but if we’re being honest, our living room couches aren’t always the most productive work environments. Enter: The Great Room, one of Bangkok’s most chic coworking spaces that has all the amenities of home but will get you out of the house.
What we love about The Great Room is that it’s not one of those bland coworking spaces that are just rows of desks and chairs in a vacant space. Instead, the brand promotes “hospitality-inspired coworking”—which means that despite being a coworking space, it’s way nicer than most actual offices.
The Great Room first opened its doors in Bangkok right downtown at Gaysorn Tower, and now they’ve expanded to Silom Road, specifically at Park Silom. Both locations are super easy to get to via public transportation thanks to their direct connections to Chidlom BTS, Saladaeng BTS and Silom MRT. Throw in floor-to-ceiling windows, sweeping panoramic views of the city, high-speed enterprise-grade WiFi, and even a sky garden at the Park Silom location, you get some of the most beautiful (and efficient) office spaces you’ll ever work in.
But it’s not just about the looks—as working professionals themselves, the team behind The Great Room recognizes that coworking spaces can have multiple functions, and they’ve catered their memberships accordingly. One of their most attractive features is the fact that they have a range of plans depending on your specific needs, meaning you’re not suddenly tied down with a long-term membership that you don’t need.
The most affordable option is the Day Pass, which is ideal for customers who only need a working space for a short period of time (e.g. while you’re traveling). Valid from 9am to 6pm on weekdays, a day pass grants you access to barista coffee, tea, enterprise grade WiFi, and both the communal areas and private phone booths.
If you work remotely but would like to have year-long flexible access to an office space, the Hot Desk plan is exactly what it sounds like: you’ll have access to all of the working (hot) desk space, as well as the various on-site amenities; this one is particularly great for those who do a lot of regional traveling, as you’ll also have access to seven regional The Great Room locations in Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Sydney (opening in 2024), as well as credits to book a private on-demand “Hot Office.”
Looking for a new office space? The various Dedicated Office packages include beautiful office spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the Bangkok skyline, and which can cater to businesses of 2 to 20 members; bigger teams can also opt for the enterprise packages, which can cover an entire floor for teams of up to 300.
And lastly, there’s the Virtual Office option for those who don’t actually need a working space, but would like a separate corporate mailing address. The Great Room’s staff will handle all of your mail and packages, and you can use the communal areas for an hour while popping in to check your mail. And even though it’s “virtual,” a virtual office membership still gives you access to events and meeting spaces across the region.
If you’re in the market for something even more long-term and for a larger group of people, The Great Room also offers various custom enterprise packages with flexible contract terms. All you have to do is contact a team member who will be happy to sit down with you and figure out what kind of package would work best for your office, whether that’s a large quantity of day pass bundles for your employees, or a scalable project space that includes customized office layouts, a private pantry, built-in meeting rooms, and executive offices, along with small touches like signage and a private entrance.
Solopreneur who needs to give an important presentation? There are plenty of meeting rooms that you can book out to ensure full privacy. Thanks to the onsite café (whose menu includes “The Great Blend,” their exclusive housemade coffee blend), you can take a coffee break without having to pack up all your stuff and trekking out to the street to find some mediocre coffee. There’s even a nursing room for new moms!
And unlike most coworking spaces, The Great Room’s team goes the extra mile to create an atmosphere of community. That means a calendar of regular networking events where you can get to know the other members in a semi-casual setting. There’s a weekly Monday Breakfast Club with (ya guessed it) free breakfast on Mondays, a monthly Great Thirstdays where members share ideas over some much-needed drinks, and a regular Spend The Night With series, a casual fireside chat featuring thought leaders across a wide span of industries.
Oh, and there’s one major perk that digital nomads and frequent travelers will especially benefit from: your Dedicated Office or Hot Desk membership gives you access to all of their locations worldwide. In addition to both Bangkok locations, you’ll also be able to access coworking spaces in Sydney, Hong Kong, six locations in Singapore, and a whopping 160 offices in major cities across North America and Europe.
