A long-time and beloved spot on Thailand's dining scene, Charmgang Curry Shop started a new pop-up last week and will be continuing through the weekend until Jul 16 at Baan Trok Tua Ngork.
This time, they’re going with a snack bar, delving into some Thai-Chinese tapas concepts for their new Charm Krung concept, which is “a little bit of everything.” Look for the likes of smoked duck and prawns with spring rolls, grilled curried prawns, pickled salad with summer crab, and custard apple in coconut milk.
If you’ve been meaning to try Charmgang but want a broad sample, this is a chance to hit up Baan Trok Tua Ngork for a smattering of Charmgang-style treats. The new pop-up is for dinner everyday from 6pm-10:30pm, and if you want to get in early, they’ve also got a lunch offering on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3pm (last orders at 1:30pm).
Ever since it opened in 2019, Charmgang’s spot on a tiny sub-soi hidden in Charoenkrung has been dishing out curries beloved of locals and tourists alike, and it’s always full. This is a way to try their dishes without squeezing behind the red door.
Charmgang will be dishing out their treats from the second floor of Baan Trok Tua Ngork, a five-story historic spot with nearly a century of history adapted from an old family chili paste factory.
