In too deep.

Canadian pop-punk band Sum 41—known for a lot of eye makeup and their early ‘00s hits like “Still Waiting,” “Fat Lip,” “The Hell Song,” or “In Too Deep”—was scheduled to play at Bangkok’s JJ Mall on Mar 31 but canceled late on Friday last week (Mar 17).

The band announced on social media that they would be canceling the show due to a family emergency. In fact, a whole leg of the band’s Asia tour was shut down for this family emergency, including shows in Singapore, Japan, and South Korea.

"This tour is one we have been greatly looking forward to but, due to a family emergency, we have had to make this incredibly difficult decision," the social media annoucement said.

The band—formed in 1996 consisting of Deryck Whibley, Dave Baksh, Jason "Cone" McCaslin, Tom Thacker, and Frank Zummo—had only just announced their Bangkok show in the mid-February.

According to a social media post from Be Hear Now, the event organizer, fans can still show up to listen to rock bands Story of the Year and Monkey Pants. Those hoping for a refund can contact Ticket Melon for more information.
