It’s been 11 months since
Le Normandie’s ex-head chef Arnaud Dunand announced the grand opening of his restaurant
Maison Dunand and Alpea, his bistro focusing on Alpine cuisine. Good news, the wait is over: the highly anticipated venue opens
Sep 9.
Taking over a two-storey house in Sathorn Soi 10, Maison Dunand hopes to be a retreat from the concrete jungle in an inviting two-storey chalet built with oak wood and stone—a nod to the chef’s childhood in the Savoie region of the French Alps. Here, Dunand combines his globe-trotting inspiration with his Alpine roots and handpicked, high-quality produce from his home region—think fresh lake trout, traditional Beaufort cheese, and seafood from the Brittany coastline.
His dining course experience will be available for lunch (weekends only) and dinner. At lunch, choose four courses (B2,200) or five (B3,600), and six courses (B4,600) or nine (B6,900) for dinner.
Maison Dunand is also connected to his bistro-slash-grocery, Alpea, which sports a more casual and friendly vibe. No longer constrained to haute cuisine, Dunand presents a more honest interpretation of his fare, a nostalgic homage to Piedmont and Savoie flavors. At Alpea, you can also find a corner dedicated to Savoie’s imported produce: cheese, cold-cuts, housemade pasta, and wine. Patrons will also find freshly made baked goods ready for on-the-go visitors.
