Pay tribute to the iconic Montien Boonma with an intriguing look into his life
See works by one of the country’s best.
Marking 20 years since the untimely passing of his friend and mentor, Navin Rawanchaikul pays homage to the internationally acclaimed contemporary artist Montien Boonma with an exhibition of his work and archives. The exhibition, Departed < > Revisited, is being hosted at Wat Umong, a forest monastery that held special significance to Montien’s life, from Dec 26-Mar 28, 2021.
Two of the late artist’s site-specific social sculptures, “Vipassana-Vessel” (1993) and “Room” (1994), will be recreated, while a new work created by Navin, “Black Question (After Montien Boonma),” will be showcased. There will also be intimate talks led by National Artists Chalermchai Kositpipat and Chart Korbjitti.
