The Westin hosts a busy day for the perfect night's sleep
It's almost World Sleep Day 2020, and The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok wants to help you get some shut eye
The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok has joined a global mission to help people get some shut eye. This Mar 13 is World Sleep Day, an international celebration of all things sleep and an awareness campaign that highlights sleep-related health issues and the researchers fighting them. The event is organized by the World Sleep Society. Yes, that is very much a real organization, and they mean business about sleep.
Some people are great at getting a full, rejuvenating eight hours of sleep. For others, like nearly every BK editor is the history of this company, getting a full night’s rest sounds like the punchline of a joke they don’t understand—ha ha, what? But sleep deprivation, as any perpetually tired person will tell you, gets pretty soul crushing after a while. According to the World Sleep Society, over 45-percent of the world’s population has their “quality of life” disrupted by sleep problems, and a third of people with sleep disorders don’t seek professional help.
This is the 13th World Sleep Day, and The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok has already taken part in previous years. In fact, the Westin Hotels & Resorts brand has developed its own mattress, the Heavenly Bed, and picked up a couple of awards in the process.
In Bangkok, the hotel is organizing a bunch of activities to help promote proper sleep—happening inside and outside the hotel.
Early risers can take part in MOVE WELL, a guest run with the hotel’s very own Run Concierge. Available every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:30 am to 7:30 am, explore the local area with a three-mile group run led by RunWESTIN™ Hotel Running Concierge—ready to take runners of any skill level out on a reinvigorating local excursion.
With your exercise out of the way, move on to EAT WELL. A balanced diet plays into a balanced sleep cycle. As such, Westin has its EAT WELL menu on offer to provide a selection of health-conscious dining choices that promote sustainable and nutrient-rich food pairings to keep you energized for the day.
Next, rejuvenate your body with a FEEL WELL experiences, such as a traditional Thai massage and full body stretching to help blood circulation at Vareena Spa on the hotel’s 8th floor.
Finally, SLEEP WELL. At the end of the day, conclude with the SLEEP WELL Menu, which has been meticulously designed to combine the best dining options to increase your quality of sleep and overall well-being.
