Embrace the slow life.

Leave it to Buriram to show us how a local market should look in 2019. Located in the rice paddies north of Highway 24, the province’s new community market Truthom leans into local culture and architecture in a big way.

The space, named after a kind of bamboo fish trap, features loads of bamboo decor and even a building that resembles its namesake fishing gear. Here, vendors deal loads of locally made and grown goods, OTOP products and northeastern dishes. Enjoy some noodles and freshly squeezed sugar cane juice in the air-conditioned dining area, or head up to the roof terrace to take in the surrounding scenery of picturesque flower gardens, streams and rice paddies.

Truthom also lets you embrace the proverbial “slow life” in Isaan by staying overnight at the free onsite campground.
