No human interaction required at Deliveroo’s latest dine-in concept
Unless you really want to
In the latest episode of a digital company expanding more into physical offerings, food delivery app Deliveroo has opened their very first Deliveroo Food Market, a casual diner located in the western office cluster of One-north at the newly opened Alice@Mediapolis.
At the 40-seater space, you get to order from all-time favourites like Omakase Burger, NamNam and Bonchon, which is great news for all those working in the area but are hankering for these eats that are usually found in other parts of Singapore. Even Amoy Street’s The Flying Squirrel is offering their modern Japanese cuisine here.
Other than food, those looking for a morning cuppa can get it at mobile espresso bar Nineteen95’s first permanent spot, while for alcoholic drinks, the usual Heineken, Strongbow and Guinness are available, as well as craft beers from Brussels Beer Project.
It’s like a food court, but with many boutique F&B brands under one roof instead of hawker type stalls. And the best part? All orders and fulfillments are done digitally, so no human interaction is needed. Simply order from tablet devices and make payment electronically, then pick up your food from one of 12 smart digital cubbies there that indicate on its panels whose order it is. If you do want to speak to someone, Nineteen95’s baristas are always around for that.
Another plus point for those in the vicinity is that the Food Market also serves as a Deliveroo Editions point, meaning all the concepts here are available for delivery orders too. There are currently seven kitchens out of 10 being utilised, so we’ll likely see even more options going forward.
We see the Deliveroo Food Market as a physical manifestation of their digital Food Market function they launched just late last year, where you’re able to order from multiple participating vendors in one transaction on the app. It’s a winning move that we hope will only expand to more regions of Singapore.
Deliveroo Food Market is located at #01-02/03 Alice@Mediapolis, 29 Media Circle, open daily for dine-in from 11am–2.30pm and 4.30pm–9.30pm.
