There will be no time to spare for a food coma

For the sixth year running, the Dubai Food Festival has unfurled its tents and parked its food trailers to serve the slew of festival-goers attending the 17-day gastronomical bonanza. If you find yourself in the land of impossibly high skyscrapers and dazzling sports cars from now to Mar 9, you just might want to consider dropping by at this highly acclaimed culinary festival.

For this year’s edition, anticipate the return of food carnival royalty, Swyp Beach Canteen. Back for its fifth year to reclaim the hearts and appetites of locals and tourists alike, this al fresco canteen consists of three food zones: The Cooking Court, where guests can witness engaging and interactive cooking demonstrations by talented local and regional chefs, Food Piazza, which boasts a spread of homegrown food concepts across the Emirates, and 7UP-Fido’s Food Truck Alley, where various food trucks gather for the ultimate array of street-style feasting.

Besides the solid culinary lineup, Swyp Beach Canteen will also be offering a multitude of non-food related entertainment segments, including play parks, live music performances, sports and gaming zones, among others.

In conjunction with the Dubai Food Festival 2019, several reputable restaurants across the city will be offering multi-course set dinners at a flat rate of AED 199 ($73) for Dubai Restaurant Week, taking place till Mar 2. You can look forward to savouring the tastes of authentic Emirati cuisine of Seven Sands, a well-balanced medley of Latin-American flavours by Scape, or sizzling signature steaks with an incredible view of the Arabian Gulf and Burj Al Arab while dining at La Parilla. Check out the full list of participating restaurants here.

Dubai Food Festival 2019 takes place Feb 21-Mar 9. Admission is free.
