American guitar virtuouso and smooth-rock crooner turned social-media maverick John Mayer will kick off a world tour in March next year, with Bangkok among its first stops. 

Thai fans can mark down the date: Apr 3, 2019. That's when Mayer will march into town armed with his promise to play “two sets of music with more songs in rotation than ever before.”

As part of his Asia tour, the veteran performer will also stop off in Singapore, Jakarta, Hong Kong and Tokyo, after kicking things off in New Zealand and Australia.

No doubt we can expect to hear some of the stripped-back acoustic hits like "Your Body is a Wonderland" and "No Such Thing" that shot him to fame in the '00s, along with newer electro-tinged tracks like recent single "New Light" (whose budget video below is good for a few laughs).

His concert venue for Bangkok has been confirmed at Impact Arena, with tickets going on sale Feb 9 from B2,000 on Thaiticketmajor.
