One of the best tattoo studios in Bangkok just got bigger
What started as a simple one-man studio is now one of the biggest high-end tattoo parlors in Bangkok
Last year, ALL DAY Tattoo was featured on BK’s list of “Best Tattoo Studios in Bangkok”, and now more news out of the studio is that they have upgraded to a new, dedicated four-story shophouse set-up on Sukhumvit Road.
Now a little over two years old, ALL DAY has come a long way in a short time, having started with just a one tattoo artist under its banner, along with the founder Luca.
“I started the studio in response to a need I couldn’t find a solution to,” he says. “Coming from Europe where I’d been tattooed extensively by some world-class artists, I wanted to continue getting tattooed in Bangkok. I found some amazing artists and some great studios but I never felt anything came together with the ‘complete package’, and tattoos aren’t something I’m willing to compromise on.”
After completing a full apprenticeship to learn the ins-and-outs of the tattoo scene, Luca opened his own studio—moving into the space right above nightlife favorite Hair of the Dog when it opened its second location in Phrom Phong.
“My tattoo master is Japanese and he told me that in Japan most studios are found on upper floors or back streets, so I felt like being located above a bar would give the studio the chance of growing at a steady pace, concentrating only on the quality of the service and the work, and hopefully become Bangkok’s best kept secret”
Turns out the secret didn’t last long! The studio quickly gained a reputation for bringing together world-class artists, strict hygiene standards and Western style “5-star” service.
“We understand people can be nervous to get tattooed in a country where they aren’t familiar with the hygiene standards and don’t speak the language,” said Luca. “Knowing you’re safe and understood is a big deal, and rightly so! We made sure we started on day-one with 100-percent imported inks, needles and aftercare products from the USA, hospital-level hygiene standards and fluent English service both in-store and if someone contacts us online. We feel this makes them comfortable and relaxed so they can really enjoy the experience.”
It seemed to be a winning formula. After opening, the studio grew from one artist to two, to three and more, until it finally ran out of space and the team decided it was time to move to a new space.
Located just meters from BTS Phrom Phong and The Emporium, would-be tattoo recipients can find the new location pretty easily. The space is also designed with a lot of creature comforts in mind to help customers feel at ease.
“We want a trip to our studio to be like visiting a good friend,” said Luca. “When you walk in you’ll be greeted by our fluent English-speaking staff, offered water and a seat, and can relax in front of our huge TV, play over 5,000 games on our retro arcade machine, mess around with our iPad, knock out some pull-ups on our bar or just sit and eat some of our complimentary candy!”
It’s not all style and no substance though. The quality of the work also speaks for itself.
“We don’t want to be a ‘tattoo factory’,” said Luca. “When you come to us we take the time to make sure we’re explaining the process to you, making recommendations on what we believe will look best for the long term and why, and really making you a part of the design process so you get something original that you truly love.”
Their reputation for this high standard of work has allowed them to attract some of the best tattoo artists in Bangkok, so whatever your style, they’re sure to have you covered.
