Chocolate Factory opens latest branch in 150-year-old Chiang Mai house
Good news for chocoholics up north
Khao Yai’s Chocolate Factory has opened up shop in Chiang Mai, planting roots in a charming 150-year-old house by the Ping River.
The brand's latest branch steers away from the elegant studio designs of its Hua Hin and Pattaya siblings, keeping the traditional building intact in all of its Lanna glory. The light-filled open space is decked out in blond wood, with woven bronze light fixtures adding some modern flair.
Expect a plethora of chocolate desserts, from white chocolate cheesecake (B100) and decadent chocolate hazelnut lava (B180) to layered chocolate banana cake (B85).
There's also a full range of Thai and international dishes on offer, including charcoal grilled Australian beef tenderloin with red wine sauce (B780) and Australian beef stew with brown rice (B240). For local food with a twist, try the nam prik ong pasta (spicy chili and tomato , B240), or pasta topped with spicy northern sausage and pork crackling (B200).
