A shady art market, fleas galore, and Singapore’s largest indoor farmers’ market

This July, there’s something for everyone—whether you’re into art, clothing (new and pre-loved), interior design or farm-fresh produce. Who knew reckless spending was this easy!

Actually Affordable Art Market (Jul 1)

Oh the shade of it all. With no intention whatsoever to be subtle, Camp Kilo Charcoal Club is launching its inaugural edition of the Actually Affordable Art Market, to provide affordable art to the discerning (and frankly, less well-off) crowd. It will also be a great place to meet locally based artists; get to shop straight from the likes of SheenuStudio, Bleak Illustration, Room To Imagine, Paper Forest, PAYNK and many others. All the art is capped, truly affordably, at $200.

So Gelam Market (Jul 1)

The vibrant market held on the last weekend of each month spills over into July this start of the month. As usual, Baghdad Street will be closed to cars and transformed into a tent-lined avenue of stalls, fairy lines, batik buntings, and a central lawn with mats to relax on. Shop food, drinks and snacks, or pick up an artisanal trinket; if you get bored of browing, there are even traditional kampong games like spinning tops, five stones and chapteh provided for you to relive that long-gone community spirit.

Underground Market No. 10 at Urban Ventures X (Jul 7)

At the 10th anniversary of Urban Ventures, the iconic street party is moving out of Keong Saik Road—and thankfully, taking pre-loved flea Underground Market with it. This edition’s line-up of influencer-wardrobes-you-can-shop includes Aarika Lee, Jade Seah, Nadia Rahmat and more. There will also be an Artisans Market running along the street where you can pick up products from more than 20 local craftmakers and entrepreneurs.

Sprout Singapore (Jul 7-8)

If we’re being technical, Sprout is Singapore’s first and largest farm-to-people festival; but if we’re not, it’s the biggest indoor farmers market on the island with more than 50 local exhibitors. Taste from Singaporean farm growers and urban farmers, or pick up fresh produce and artisanal foods to bring home. There’s even a dining area where you can chow on the farm-to-table dishes from participating restaurants.

Flea Market at 1 Level Up (Jul 8)

Everyone’s favorite bar-cade Level Up is holding a flea market from 4-10pm and the sweet deal is—there’s no rental cost. If you want to take part, all you have to do is spend a minimum of $100 on food and drinks, and put in a $50 deposit the week before; one booth can be shared with up to three people. For the shoppers, going by the nightly demographic at the bar, expect your influencer types and fashionistas hawking off their pre-loved goods.

Sunday Social Market (Jul 15)

The next edition of Sunday Social goes pink as part of PinkFest, and celebrates the freedom to love. It’ll be another memorable day of house music, roasts from Camp Kilo Charcoal Club and the island’s chicest brands in baking, crafts, interior design and fashion. Vendors to look out for include Artisan & Fox, Neo Nomad, Africology Skincare Singapore, and Lilla Lane—plus tarot and astrology by local alternative holistic service A Third Eye Seer.

White Sands Weekend Flea (Jul 21)

East-siders can take a breezy jaunt over to White Sands shopping mall for the weekly flea organized by TGIF Bazaars. Pick up handmade candles, bath salts, clothes, accessories and more—and then head inside the mall for some air-con.

Where: White Sands, 1 Pasir Ris Central Street 3

The Mega Flea Market (Jul 21-22)

Expect nothing less than a flea market on steroids at the Mega Flea Market. Squeeze your way through the 200 stalls (mostly clothing); if you want to take a break from shopping, there’s street food, carnival games, and even a dedicated ‘Old School Snacks and Games Corner’ selling your favorite tidbits from the ‘80s and ‘90s.
