The massive art fair that takes over a hotel is back next month.

One of Bangkok’s favorite art weekends, The Hotel Art Fair, makes a roaring return on Jun 9-10 taking over the very chic 137 Pillars Bangkok hotel.

Since 2013 Farmgroup design consultancy firm has been taking over hotels across the city in collaboration with Bangkok’s top galleries.

This year's event runs under the theme of "Art in the Sky" and the participants list reads like a who’s who of the Thai art world: SAC Subhashok, Artist + Run, Kalwit Studio, Atta Gallery, Number 1, Pomme Chan, De’Lapae Art Space Narathiwat, The Danish Room by Norse Republics and lots, lots more.

You’ll also want to stop by the rooms occupied by visiting forces like Joan Cornella, the Spanish whiz known for his black humor-laced six-panel comic strips. This will be another chance for Bangkok fans to check out his provocative works touching on socially-inhibited topics through scenes of cannibalism, infanticide, deification, murder, suicide and amputation, following his super-popular exhibition here last year.

Other participants from abroad include Malaysia’s g13 Gallery, Tokyo’s Clear Gallery and China's WE Gallery.

Entry, as always, is free.
