This weekend sees the first edition of W Koh Samui hotel's (www.wretreatkohsamui.com) Backstage Festival, which will bring together music, art and wellness by the beach.

Kicking off from noon on Aug 26 will be 13 hours of live DJs, including familiar names like Bangkok's DJ Orawan, who'll sping UK Garage and drum 'n' bass, and Mr. Has, the Music Director of W Hotels Asia Pacific, offering up disco beats.

But that's not all the B900 entry fee gets you, with partiers also getting access to activities like a fitness boot camp, jet skis, stand up paddle boards, kayaking and water jet packs with fees applied.

You can also get a new tattoo from a pop-up station, or just kick back in the shade while receiving a spa treatment.

Local artists Star Lab Industries to give a live graffiti demonstration, while food stations will give you the sustenance to last through the night.

Tickets can be purchased at the door. W Koh Samui is also offering a package where if you book a minimum two nights' stay (B22,240 per night), including Aug 26, you get two complimentary tickets. Return flights from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Koh Samui will set you back B7,400.
