The home improvement and appliances retailer Homepro has plans to expand in the inner city with a new format the size of a small supermarket. They just opened the first such store, dubbed Homepro S (the S is for “small, selected and service”), at Gateway Ekkamai.
Compared to the multi-story behemoth at Ploenchit, this Homepro is indeed much more compact. But the 1000-sq-meter space is still enough to cover a lot of what you’d find in a regular Homepro, from home maintenance to small appliances: stock up on paint to refresh your living room, replace your old rice cooker, or even grab a stone mortar if you feel like making Thai curry this weekend.
While you won’t find your new bed here (the space just isn’t big enough), there’s plenty of hipster-y desks and cabinets to redecorate your studio on a budget. We like the rustic, black iron and wood pieces (from B3,590 for a coffee table with drawers)—dangling ferns not included! As for your dirty laundry, give it a new home in one of their beige canvas containers. Even your office could benefit from some of their cute desk accessories.
From light bulbs, showerheads to electric drills, serious DIYers will find much to love in the new Homepro S. A Black & Decker 550W drill is currently B1,590, while the electric screwdriver from the same brand is B850. Use it change a few plugs at home into USB outlets (from B429), or go into full lockdown with a complete CCTV set (B15,900).
They have an installation service, so if you absolutely must have someone install that new showerhead, they’ll happily oblige. Also of note, they’re having a sale right now. Through Jun 28th, you can get discounts of up to 60 percent.
