Good value and prime location in Hokkaido's third largest city.

The first Four Points hotel in Japan has opened in the beautiful Northern region of Hokkaido.

Located near Hakodate JR Station and the renowned Asaichi Morning Maket, Four Points by Sheraton Hakodate (www.fourpointshakodate.com) presents 199 modern guestrooms and suites, plush signature beds and great views of the region's third largest city.

From now till Oct 31, they're offering discounted rates starting at around Y7,790 (B2,400) per night—pretty affordable and particularly good news if you want to catch the wonderfully colored lavender fields in nearby Furano and Biei, which are at their peak in July-August. Of course, Hokkaido is also famous as a winter ski destination.

Of the F&B offerings, the highlight has to be the Night View Bar EsteLado, which offers some of the best views of the city along with signature cocktails and local craft beers like Sapporo Classic, which is served on tap as part of the hotel's Best Brew program aimed at showcasing locally sourced and seasonal beers.
