The latest in a spate of new hotel openings in Hua Hin is Ananda Hua Hin Resort & Spa (032-898-989, www.anandahuahin.com), which is set to open its doors this Apr 1.

Actually located in Cha-am, a 15-minute drive from Hua Hin town center, the property is a mix of some 196 villas and rooms scattered around a pool and along the beachfront. Until May 15 opening rates start from B3,900 for a superior type, rising to B35,900 for a two-bedroom beachfront pool villa. 

Drinking and dining highlights include jazz bar Blue Biscuit and Italian seafood restaurant Brezza, which spotlights wine from Hua Hin’s Monsoon Valley Vineyard.
