The lineup include Grammy award-winning fusion quartet Yellowjackets, former Earth, Wind & Fire guitarist Al McKay and our own Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band.

True Jazz Fest (www.truejazzhuahin.com) is a new music event that looks to fill the space left by the Hua Hin Jazz Festival, which has gone quiet for over a year now.

Taking place at True Arena Hua Hin this Mar 24-25, the two-day festival will feature the Grammy award-winning fusion quartet Yellowjackets, American saxophonist Benny Golson and guitarist Al McKay, formerly of Earth, Wind & Fire, plus local names like Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band, Soul After Six and Thailand All-Stars Jazz Orchestra.

Tickets are B2,000 for a oneday pass or B3,500 for a two-day pass (though early birds can get this for B2,500 through Feb 19).

Meanwhile, rumor has it that Hua Hin Jazz Festival may return in late May. Stay tuned.
