The first property (pictured) opens in Hua Hin this Mar 1.

After a long wait, the first hotel both owned and designed by Thai resort architecture king Duangrit Bunnag (The Naka, Alila Cha Am) will begin taking bookings this Feb 20, with rates ranging from B5,000-13,000.

Located on the third floor of the Seenspace Hua Hin beachfront mall, Hotel Bocage blends itself into the rest of the project with its simple yet brutal concrete lines. Inside is a vision of elegance, with minimal furniture, gray-scale colors and abundant natural stone.

Already listed as part of the prestigious portfolio of Design Hotels - Boutique & Luxury Design Hotel Collection, the property features bespoke beds, tables and wardrobes from Italian furniture-maker Porro, while sofas come from Living Divani.

Inside the bathrooms, you'll find an equally Italian touch thanks the clean fixtures of Antonio Lupi Design, complemented by the en vogue toiletries of trending Australian label Aesop.

With only six rooms, the hotel still manages to offer three types of room: Simply Standard at 45 sq meters with two rooms; Very Deluxe at 60 sq meters with three rooms; and The Only Suite, which features a vast, 80-sq-meter open-plan space.

The tech-savvy property also offers mobile app check-in that let's you access your room without even having to stop at the lobby.

Make your bookings starting Feb 20 through www.hotelbocage.com for stays beginning Mar 1.

Duangrit has also stated he has plans for future properties also under the Hote Bocage brand.
