Huy Fong Sriracha sauce is now available in Thailand
America's "rooster sauce" is coming to a supermarket near you.
It's a particularly happy day for American expats as it's been confirmed that the US-hailing Huy Fong Sriracha sauce is finally available for purchase here in Bangkok.
While the name is familiar, the popular hot sauce recognizable by its rooster logo and signature green cap is not to be confused with the local variation, though both take their name from the Sriracha region in Eastern Thailand.
Created by a Vietnamese native who migrated to the US, the so-called "rooster sauce" is often characterized by its hot and sour taste (owing to Californian red jalapenos) as opposed to its sweeter Thai counterpart.
The sauce is now available on Lazada.co.th at B155 for a 266ml botle and B215 for a 435ml bottle. And according to the importer, you’ll soon find it at supermarkets, too.
