For travellers who want to experience the outdoors in style.

Love the outdoors but can't stand sleeping on the cold hard ground in a tent? Then glamping is for you. It has become a popular travel choice these days because you get to be one with nature and bask in its serene soundtrack and fresh air while enjoying the comforts of home. If the upscale glamping resort in Bali is still not "nature-y" enough for you, then you might want to head up north to Thailand and check out these three new places.

Camp Chiang Mai

Based in Mae Rim, new campsite Camp Chiang Mai (+66 (0) 93-996-9992) looks like a Pinterest sprung to life. An architect couple transformed a rice field situated near Mae Sa Waterfall into a tent ground filled with billowing sheets and dangling bulbs. There are 18 fancy tents with proper beds available now (rising to 40 in January), starting from $62 for a double or twin tent (two people) and $78 for a family tent (three people). This price includes a barbecue pork set dinner and Thai breakfast, while come nightfall they offer hot bathtubs (see below). Do note: prices will jump to $74-$90 from Dec 24-Jan 7, 2017. The more adventurous Flying Camp package ($200 for two people, $280 for three people) includes use of the zipline at the nearby Flying Squirrels along with other activities.

Rustic Camping

Another quaint new camping destination is Rustic Camping (+66 (0) 81-343-2786) in the Kabinburi district of Prachin Buri, best known as the home of whitewater rafting spot Kaeng Hin Perng. For $72 per person per night, guests get a tiny tent for the night along with a dinner buffet with free-flow draught beer from 6-10pm. Imported beers are all $9. Also included is use of their zipline service at Saksupa Resort, while you can pay more to use the paintball, BB gun and ATV facilities.

 3199' Mountain Camp

Mountain towns in the western region like Kanchanaburi have also jumped on this trend. 3199' Mountain Camp open their camp from this Dec 10-Mar 12, 2017. Their bohemian tents are available in various deals: the Sweet package ($48 for two people), Boho package ($64 for two-three people) and Gypsy package ($144 for up to six people). These price include dinner, a barbecue set, soft drinks and breakfast. On the same property you'll also find a melon farm, cafe and live music corner playing folk songs. Be warned: the opening date is already fully booked. The camp is located 30 minutes from the town center of Kanchanaburi.
