You can now pay for your Uber rides with Apple Pay in Singapore
The cashless revolution is near.
Singapore is slowly making its move towards cashless modes of payments. With Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Android Pay already available here, you can almost leave your wallets at home. Wouldn't it be great if you could pay for everything with your phone? Well, Uber is quickly moving into that direction, adding Apple Pay to its list of payment methods. And yes, we're the first country in Southeast Asia to get this feature (no surprise there).
Uber already has a number of cashless payment options (you can even pay by cash now), which might make this move seem a little redundant, especially if you've already been using your card to pay. But think about it: if you use Apple Pay instead, you're technically adding another level of security to protect yourself in the event that your Uber account gets hacked (your credit card information is stored on the iPhone's native Wallet app). So there; a reason for you to switch.
Also, you'll get $3 off three Uber rides when you pay with Apple Pay and use the promo code APPLEPAYSG (valid until Nov 25, limited the first 100,000 riders).
