After touring around the world, the Elephant Parade charity exhibition is heading back to where it all started: Chiang Mai.

After touring around the world, including a stint in Bangkok late last year, the Elephant Parade (www.elephantparade.com), the massive charity art exhibition raising funds to protect Asian elephants, is heading back to where it all started: Chiang Mai.

It’s been 10 years since the Elephant Parade first got underway, and now the exhibition plans to take over the streets of the city from Dec 9 through Jan 15, 2017.

The location spans from the moat canal to the Three Kings Monument, Tha Pae Road, Wat Intharawat and Warorot Market (aka Kad Luang). As many as 89 Elephant Parade statues will stand proudly across the city to mark the age of the late King Bhumibol.

Each statue was created by a renowned Thai artist, international brand or top celebrity—even starchitect Duangrit Bunnag has contributed a design.

Don’t miss the Elephant Parade Land Experience, an art studio where visitors can paint their very own elephant.
