This Sukhumvit Soi 26 bar’s selling point comes in the form of 26 rotating taps pouring premium brews from around the world. That means names like BrewDog, Stone, Coronado, Bear Republic, Hitachino, Flying Dog, EvilTwin, Heretic and Speakeasy starting at B140 for a small glass and finishing at B320 for full pour. Every time a keg finishes (almost every day), you can expect something new to be hooked up to the tap. Can’t decide? Tasting flights go for B726 (6 glasses) or B1,126 (10 glasses). The kitchen dishes out comforting fare like mac and cheese (B220), live acoustic bands perform on weekdays and DJs bring the party on the weekend.

 

Located just a couple minutes’ walk from BTS Udom Suk, this pokey little bar is barely big enough for five stools and a narrow counter. The beer selection is huge in comparison, featuring six taps (starting at B200/330ml glass) rotating weekly and over 30 bottles (try the Brewdog Hop Fiction Pale Ale, B290). After great success at its first home in Ploen Chit, this asylum-themed bar has opened its second spot in Phrom Phong. It stays true to the original’s dark, mysterious atmosphere like something from a horror film, offering a huge range of craft beers from all over the world across two floors. Beers are available both on tap (rotating) and in bottles. Check out Founders KBS Imperial stout (B580/bottle), an impressive 11.2-percent strength brew that’s aged in bourbon barrels, as well as Maisels Hefeweizen (just B190/glass). Tuesday is ladies’ night with 50-percent off on all taps for women.

 

A quick skip from BTS On Nut, just opposite Tesco on Sukhumvit Soi 50, Dog Step specializes in a selection of homemade German sausages. For B119, you can choose from Frankfurter, paprika, garlic, smoked ham, smoked bratwurst, pepper bratwurst or chilli bratwurst, served with pickle, sauerkraut in white wine and garlic bread. The other main draw is the impressive selection of imported beer bottles, starting from B180 for a Stone Head Tire Burning Weizen.

 

Easily 72 Courtyard’s most laid-back spot, Beer Belly rolls together East-meets-West drinking snacks like pork wontons (B140) and barbecue ribs (B320), 20 taps of beer and a frat-like party vibe. The beer covers all the familiar names, from Hitachino to Mikkeller, with Asahi going for B260/pint. You can throw more money at the likes of La Chouffe (B420/pint) and L’Olmaia LA5 (B480/pint) or select from bottled Thai craft beers like Chalawan (B180) and Phuket Beer (B180).
