Willin Low's new restaurant is going to be in an 1895 warehouse on Robertson Quay
The heritage building will also be site of a snazzy new boutique hotel.
We've known for a while that the old, three-building warehouse with a storied past on Robertson Quay was going to become a sexy boutique hotel by The Lo & Behold Group (the restaurant group behind the recently awarded two-Michelin-starred Odette) some time in the fourth quarter of 2016. Well, now we have some deets.
37-room boutique hotel The Warehouse is opening in December this year, with gorgeous, retro-leaning interiors involving lots of leather and rattan, done by Singaporean firm Asylum (also responsible for beautiful spaces Lollapalooza and Smoke & Mirrors). The jewel in the crown will be Po, a collaboration between The Lo & Behold Group and Mod-Sin wonderboy and chef-partner Willin Low. No word yet on the concept of the Wild Rocket chef's latest venture, beyond the fact that it's going to be solidly Singaporean (a little birdie vaguely said that there might be a big focus on well-done popiah)
The cocktail will take inspiration from the building's history, with sections paying homage to the godown's time as a spice storehouse, an illegal distillery and, most recently, a discotheque.
We don't have photos of the food or the restaurant, but we do have pictures of the hotel rooms, and we're feeling pretty inspired for our next staycation.
