Some healthy ways, some less healthy ways.

[Sponsored] Singapore’s economic growth has seen better days, and if you have one of those fancy corporate jobs in the CBD, chances are you’ve been having some sad moments at the office. But when it’s time to clock out and blow off some steam, here are some lavish ways to treat yourself.

Sliders at OverEasy Fullerton

1. Eat your feelings

Just because the economy is in the doldrums doesn’t mean you have to tighten your belt. In fact, it’s a great excuse to gorge on delicious burgers. OverEasy Fullerton’s favorite Bear Essentials recession promotion makes sure of it. Head down on evenings when the STI closes lower for the day, and load up on $1 sliders. Wash it all down between with drinks between 5-8pm on weekdays, when they also have their 1-for-1 happy hour.

2. Take a dip

If you work around Suntec, a bad day at the office just means you’ve earned a luxurious spa treatment. Calla Spa in Tower 2 is a swish new wellness concept, with an aromatherapy steam room, a mineral Jacuzzi and a menu full of fancy massages and therapies.

3. Hit something

Whether it’s Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai or MMA, beating people up (and getting beaten up) is a tried-and-tested way to work out your feelings. There’s a state-of-the-art Evolve studio at Far East Square offering a dozen different classes every day of the week. Knock yourself out—literally.

4. Run it off

If you work in the CBD, you’re jogging distance from one of the prettiest running routes in Singapore: Marina Bay Waterfront. Leave your worries behind as you soak in views of the island’s opulent skyline, the Helix Bridge and the Merlion on this 3.5km route.

5. Take a nap

Need to check out, and it’s only 2pm? Don’t sleep at your desk like a sad person. Take a power-nap at one of Virgin Active’s fancy sleep pods. They are available at both the Raffles Place branch and the soon-to-open Tanjong Pagar branch.

6. Do yoga…with cats

If this doesn’t turn your smile upside down, we don’t know what will. Boat Quay’s cat café Neko No Niwa is rolling out monthly cat yoga sessions. What’s cat yoga, you might ask. It involves doing yoga in the presence of cute cats, for double stress relief.
