A once-abandoned plot of land by the river has been totally transformed.

This might just be the most beautiful restaurant in Ratchaburi town. Inlaya Bar and Grill (096-879-4875, open Wed-Mon 5-11pm, www.fb.com/inlayabarandgrill) sits right on the lake, a 20-minute drive from the town center, and serves freshly grilled seafood transported directly from the nearby seafood mecca of Mae Klong in Samut Songkram.

Its owner, a Ratchaburi-born graphic designer called Sakan Poomnak, has transformed the once-abandoned plot of land into a perfectly manicured lawn, air-con dining room and lakeside deck with a wooden bridge perfect for before-dinner strolls.

There are three sizes of seafood sets at B389, B589 and B989—go for the top one, which comes with prawns, blue crabs, fish and New Zealand mussels. Apart from the barbecue, they also serve both Thai and international a la carte menus and a small wine list.
They’ll also open a bar within the next few months.
