It's designed by the great Philippe Starck, after all.

Frequent travelers might have noticed 2015 was a big year for trendy design hotel openings in Singapore. Now, the newly opened Foster+Partners and Philippe Starck-designed The South Beach on Beach Road may not come cheap (starting at B11,000-plus a night), but it sure is pretty.

The 654-room hotel comes filled with quirky designs (think brightly colored cushions amid  black and white carpet) alongside two sky gardens and two infinity pools that boast stunning views of the cityscape. It also boasts a ladies-only floor. Check out these jaw-dropping photos.

That chandelier is no joke

...and neither is this quirky neon light's reflection on marble

There's a cool video wall in the lobby

...not to mention some very pretty restaurants and bars

And that includes the lobby bar, Prefix

Naturally, the pool isn't shabby either

Nor the premier rooms

The Showcase Me and You rooms, for those on a (relative) budget

Incidentally, The South Beach is having a Valentine's Day package at a cool B12,179 per night. Book here.

Of course, Thailand has no shortage of world-class design hotels, either. See our favorites here.
