It's an eventful year for one of Singapore's stalwart clubs.

Another month, another big story about clubbing stalwart Zouk. First there was the weeks-long Save Zouk campaign when we thought they were losing their lease forever. Then there was news that they were keeping the premises until 2016. Then it turns out, they're moving to Clarke Quay after that. Now, there's more news yet: the club is being taking over by Genting HK, which operates Star Cruises.

Genting HK has lots of casinos, cruise ships and hotels and is affiliated with the larger Genting Group, behind Resorts World Las Vegas scheduled to open in 2018. So it's not entirely out of the question that we could see a Zouk open up in the Nevada desert. According to Sofie Chandra, the head of marketing and events, they're not ruling it out.

She was mum on any other future plans for the club, but rest assured that Zoukout in December will go ahead as planned.
