The Sultan's cool new bar, Fresh!, has roped in two restaurants for a two-night screening of the F1 qualifer and finals rounds. Local gastrobar Pluck will be serving a special menu during the qualifer showcase on Sep 19, 8:30pm and for the finals on Sep 20, 7:00pm, Mexican eatery Afterwit is dishing out classics such as tacos—all with the bar's signature '90s cocktails. More retro sounds at Kilo Lounge's F*ck Yo Couch, featuring U.K dance music duo Bodhi, comprising Olly Howells and Luke Welsby. They will be spinning mashed-up sounds of Motown, funk, blues and '90s R&B with house and garage influences on Sep 19 from 10:00pm. $20
It's a hip-hop extravaganza at KOI Bangers + Izakaya along Haji lane tomorrow (Sep 19) from 11:00pm and the set comprises performances by local emerging rappers and artists G PREME, NACK, Hafriz Genesis and Sweetch, all championing a modern mix of bass, soul and 808s (technical speak for beats by the Roland TR-808 drum machine, featured prominently on Kanye West's 808s & Heartbreak album). This one's for those who are solely for the music. Bradley Zero, of international underground music club Boiler Room, is jazzing up '50s, '60s and '70s classics at LongPlay Bar & Lounge on Sep 20 from 4:00pm, with all remixes spun on vinyl. No cover
