Le French Cremation at Whisgars Silom

The whisky and cigars expert has so much happening right now. It recently branched out to Silom with a third venue of Whisgars that also includes a follow-up to Craft beer bar and a hidden speakeasy cocktail lounge called Belle’s Room. Here, talented lady mixologist Suwincha (Chacha) Singsuwan offers tailor-made cocktails depending on her customers’ favorite base spirit, as well as a signature menu. We highly recommend Le French Cremation (B395++), a smoky and sweet whisky-based cocktail made from a mix of Chivas Regal Extra, Green Chartreuse and vanilla syrup. To serve, the mixologist will burn a secret herb on a wooden board and cover it with the serving glass before pouring in the mix for a smoky result.

Whisgars Silom, 981 Silom Rd., 02-661-3220. Open daily 2pm-2am. Facebook: Whisgars Silom

Extra LP at Tonino Lamborghini Lounge

This luxurious spot in Ekkamai is the Lamborghini lifestyle brand’s first lounge in Southeast Asia, and welcomes the city’s swanky set. The futuristic, red-lit venue sits behind the Horizon Building on Soi Ekkamai, offering a bit of everything from coffee and brunch in the morning to pizza and pasta by night. But cocktails are the real highlight here. Pa, the lady mixologist behind the bar, is capable of making special cocktails depending on your mood and always keeps an updated list of drinks. One of the latest additions is Extra LP (B350), created by Wipawade Krongmuang, which features an infusion of Chivas Regal Extra, cinnamon, vanilla fresh lime juice and sugar syrup for a taste that’s mild and sophisticated.

New York Sour and Pacific Rob Roy at Pacific City Club

Located on the 28th floor, this normally members’ only networking space consists of a Six Sense spa, fitness facilities, meeting room, cigar bar and club lounge. But right now, part of the lounge is open to the public for Thursday’s jazz night and the Sundowner’s networking event every Friday. Be sure to try the New York Sour (B290) cocktail, which puts a twist on the classic whisky sour by mixing Chivas Regal Extra, fresh lime juice and syrup with a full-bodied red wine. Or, if you’re looking for something sweet and aromatic, go for the Pacific Rob Roy, made using Chivas Regal Extra, Martini Rosso and almond syrup, garnished with rosemary. Alternatively, just ask veteran mixologist Sanoj for his personal recommendations.

Rob Royce at Sugar Ray

This cocktail-centric bar is a hidden gem on Ekkamai Soi 21. The bar is run by some very cool cats who make syrup under the brand Socrates and organize the Made by Legacy flea market. The interior combines apothecary-whimsy with homey charm: leather couches, wooden tables and steel shelves showcasing jars of spirits. Try the newly launched Rob Royce (B450), a combination of Chivas Regal Extra, Carpano Antica Formula-infused vanilla and cocoa nibs, and orange bitters, stirred with ice before being served in a chilled coupette glass with Royce Nama chocolate. Do note that it’s only open three nights a week: Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
