The Cocotte family adds a new member at Emquartier.
Leon by Cocotte is the third outlet from the same group to join the high-end Emquartier mall (Mozza, Victoria), but what sets Leon apart is that they have partnered up with Paradigm shift studio—the people who have designed some of the city’s hottest restaurants, like Stage, Caper and Cadence, Crimson Room, and Maze. They have given the space a design that exudes an unpolished rustic-yet-modern atmosphere, imbued with brass and royal blue tones.
Jeriko Van Der Wolf, head chef and meat specialists, takes the wheel with a menu rich in luxe products, like foie gras, grilled meats, and burgers not for the faint-hearted. Expect Black Angus tomahawks (B250/100g) and the signature Leon foie gras burger (B690), loaded with foie gras cream, cheese, onion compote, pan-seared foie gras, rocket and balsamic caramel. The bone marrow (B390) comes grilled and topped with beef cheek, tomato relish, crispy shallots and jim jaew sauce, while the baby chicken perigourdin (B1,690) is far from ordinary: its skin is stuffed with truffle and foie gras. You can keep it light with their “avocado lovers” salad (B360) packed with fresh and smashed avocado, corn, rocket, tomato, pumpkin seeds and rye bread. Pair it all with decadent sides like truffle cheese fries (B240) and shallot gravy fries (B180)
Drinks include everything from refreshing lychee iced tea (B140) to strawberry yogurt milk shakes (B190).
