As part of his acclaimed first solo museum exhibition, the large-scale altar-like installation 2012–2555, Korakrit Arunanondchai, 27, rapped alongside his e-cigarette-smoking Bangkok friends in matching denim outfits at MoMA PS1. On top of his flamboyant rock-star looks, the young US-based artist bleaches and burns denim and uses it as a canvas, body paints, performs and shoots videos—and it’s hard to predict what he will do next.

The much-awaited annual Elle Fashion Film Festival returns at SFX Cinema Emporium from Aug 1-9. A third-year student of Materials Science and Engineering at the National University of Singapore, Jirapat “Pun” Puapipat, 22, became internet-famous after he started traveling alone and posting photos of his backpack-strapped back in foreign destinations on Pantip. Pun has traveled throughout most of Southeast Asia and is currently exploring Europe for the first time. His Facebook page The Walking Backpack has over 54,000 followers and has recently been turned into a book of the same name. BK talks to him about his travel experiences.
