So after a very brief break thanks to the much delayed end to last season, the TPL roars back into town kicking off in earnest this week. Despite plenty of transfer activity and new rules regarding foriegn players its hard to look past Buriram as the title favorites. Still, last year's runners up, Chonburi will take heart from their thrilling penalty win over Newin's northern club in the Kor Royal cup last weekend., while here in Bangkok Muang Thong United will certainly have cause for optimism after a big cash injection from SCG. Police, Bangkok Glass and BEC will look to improve on fairly indifferent seasons, while Thai Port will probably have their normal roller coaster ride, involving plenty of rumors, players allegedly not getting paid and a good cup run. Army will just hope for survival again, as will new arrivals Big Bang Chula United (BBCU) Football Club. You can see the full program of fixtures over at the excellent Thai League Football website. They will also be hosting a special get together for TPL Fans, as well as showing a number of the games at the Sportsman (Sukhumvit Soi 22, BTS Phrom Phong) at 530pm with money being donated to Klong Toei Orphanage. You may have noticed that we haven't posted for quite a while. Unfortunately, excessive work loads for both Paul and I have meant little time to dedicate to the blog. We do hope to keep posting stories but it might not quite be on a weekly basis anymore. Apologies but there's only so many hours in a day.
