A rather scrappy 1-0 win, away to struggling Siam Navy on Sunday, might not have been their most convincing performance of the season but it was another big step towards Buriram’s first title. The victory, with a first half goal from super striker Cameroon's Franck Ohandza, saw the Thunder Dome cement their lead at the top of the league to 13 points with just nine matches to go. 
They got a further boost in their title aspirations when nearest rivals Muangthong United slipped up in Saturday’s derby match against BEC Tero. Robbie Fowler’s men could only manage a 2-2 draw, twice throwing away a lead, most crucially when BEC Tero’s Jakkrit Boonkhum popped up with an injury time goal to tie the game. 
The draw meant Chonburi FC took over the coveted second spot (and its AFC Champions League place) from Muangthong on goal difference after a comfortable 2-0 victory over bottom-club Khon Kaen FC. 
Elsewhere, Thai Port had a morale boosting away win at Sisaket on Saturday, thanks to an excellent first half free kick from Mongkol Namnuad. The win, which ended Sisaket’s ten match unbeaten run, means Port are now well clear of the relegation places and just 4 points shy of 5th. 
Up in Chiang Rai at the Mae Fah Luang stadium, Bangkok Glass managed to snatch a draw when Brazilian Rafael netted with a header to make it 2-2 deep, deep into injury time. Flood-affected Police United played out a 0-0 draw with Pattaya United at their temporary home of Suphanburi. Finally, at Army Stadium, the soldiers look to be well over their alarming mid-season blip and followed up their mid-week draw against Muangthong with a solid 2-0 win over TTM Phichit.
