The big winner this weekend was Bangkok Glass, who managed a battling 2-1 victory over city-rivals Thai Port to close the gap on the top three in the TPL. Glass took the game to Port from the start taking the lead mid-way through the first half. To their credit the Port Lions did manage to pull level before half time but the sustained pressure of the Rabbits proved decisive, as they secured all three points courtesy of a 77th minute goal by Sarayuth Chaikamdee.

The win sees them remain in fourth spot but they are now just 7 points behind second place Chonburi who could only manage a 1-1 draw in a ill-tempered affair with leaders Buriram PEA. The top of the table clash saw crowd trouble with fans throwing objects onto the pitch before surrounding the stadium at the end of the game, preventing Buriram PEA from leaving the ground for over two hours.

That meant Muangthong United, who played on Sunday, knew that a win would see them move above Chonburi into second but they failed to take advantage only managing a 0-0 draw with Osotspa M-150 Saraburi at the Yamaha Stadium. It leaves them in third, one point behind Chonburi, albeit still with a game in hand.

Elsewhere, Army United’s dismal run continued as they went down 2-1 away to Si Sa Ket FC, while Insee Police United lost 1-0 to bottom side Siam Navy FC at Thammasat stadium and BEC Tero could only manage a 0-0 draw at home to SCG Samut Songkhram. To finish a pretty dissapointing weekend of results for local clubs (Glass aside of course) TOT continue to languish at the wrong end of the table after a 2-1 defeat away to Pattaya United. In the other TPL games Chiang Rai United got a point against Sri Racha while Khon Kaen and TTM Phichit continued the draw-fest that seemed to dominant this weekend's games as they finished up 2-2.
